John Whitehurst, born in 1713, was a luminary of his day. A revolutionary scientist and clockmaker to Royalty, he created the world’s most exclusive and exquisite clocks.
As a founding member of the Lunar Society, the intellectual powerhouse of the Industrial Revolution in England, he shared close bonds with Watt, Franklin and Darwin. His great ambition, to create the perfect clock, some would say was impossible. To John Whitehurst, it was his life’s work.
Whitehurst is clockmaking at its best. To own a clock of such elegance and beauty is to own a piece of history. As all clocks are meticulously crafted by hand using the finest materials, no two will ever be the same.
