In 2015, we were commissioned by Birmingham City Council, to restore and re-site the Kings Head pillar clock, one of Birmingham’s prized “Chamberlain clocks”, installed in the 1900’s to help service and monitor the trams as they made their way through Bearwood and Harborne.
These public clocks can be a welcome addition for architects, clients and planners working on a public realm or regeneration scheme, which has a requirement for public art. They can also be commissioned as memorial or commemorative clocks, designed and manufactured to mark an important occasion such as the Ashbourne Millennium Pillar Clock installed in 2000, in partnership with Ashbourne Town Council.
