A New Art-Deco Inspired Clock

Working alongside Dover District Council the Smith of Derby team are proud to have installed a bespoke clock at the recently refurbished Deal Pier. The art-deco clock was installed as part of the pier regeneration project and is a replacement of the original timepiece, which was a prominent feature of the pier for a number of years. Opened in 1957, Deal Pier celebrated its diamond anniversary in 2017. As part of the Pier’s focus, a renovation plan was revealed which included a new clock. Bespoke Clock and Signage for Funeral Directors

R W Percival Funeral Directors in Buxton, Derbyshire, had new premises developed recently, with a Smith of Derby clock being a focal point of the exterior design. Complementing the clock is bespoke company branding and signage, all of which was supplied by ourselves. The bespoke 1.5m clock is made up of twelve separate chapters, all of which are individually fixed into the exterior of the building. Bespoke Clocktower

Bespoke Clocktower A bespoke clocktower is a feature of the Arkin Group’s new HQ in Girne, Northern Cyprus. Smith of Derby were commissioned to design, fabricate and install the four clock dials for the tower, along with installation of a bell sound system to strike the hours during the day with night silencing programmed for evenings. Working alongside the Arkin Group, who own a host of companies in the leisure industry, Smith of Derby completed their first project in Northern Cyprus. Hythe Projecting Clock

Hythe Town Hall has a prominent projecting clock as part of the building facade.  Originally built in 1974, the Town Hall was a Guildhall but now houses Hythe Town council offices. In early 2019 Smith of Derby were commissioned to complete the clock restoration, ensuring it’s a focal point of Hythe for many years to follow.   The clock was installed Circa 1890 when many projecting clocks of a similar design were installed. Junction Centro Clock, Stourbridge Station

The ‘Junction Centro Clock’ is iconic to those who use Stourbridge station regularly. The clock, based upon a colorful railway theme, stands 3.5m tall by the station exit. It offers those disembarking at the West Midlands station a wonderful first sight, whilst also displaying accurate time for those catching forthcoming trains. Originally installed in 1997 by JB Joyce, part of the Smith of Derby Group, the clock is also supported by a train whistle when the time reaches the quarters and an emulation of a steam train passing on the hours.
