The bell tower of Portsmouth Guildhall had become in need of restoration due to the corrosive nature of the salt in the seaside air.
The bell tower restoration task involved cleaning and protecting the mechanisms, replacing the bell frame, updating the night silencing system controller and a thorough repair of the bell hammers.
With all the work complete on this handsome landmark, the famous ‘Pompey Chimes’, synonymous with Portsmouth Football Club, could ring out in all their splendour again.
