Will time spring forward for Morpeth’s floral clock?

January 26, 2018 Uncategorized

The Friends of Morpeth’s Clock group are determined to see Morpeth’s floral clock back to full working order in time for the summer judging of the 2018 Britain in Bloom competition.

IMG_2623The flower clock which was presented to the borough of Morpeth by James Fairbairn Smith of Detroit in 1972, has not ticked since 2008. Working with the group, Northumberland County Council are exploring options and costs to reinstate the clock back into the community

After being approached by Northumberland County Council, our expert clockmakers will be transporting the clock to our workshop in Derby next week for assessment and to advise about the options available.

Sales Manager, Tony Charlesworth says, “This clock will one day be back to its former glory and I am looking forward to seeing it working again especially as I used to service and maintain the clock for 17 years”.
