Working closely with TP Bennett architects, we were commissioned to create a contemporary exterior clock for 8 Salisbury Square, London.

The design of this state-of-the-art clock was created by our innovative design team, in accordance with the architects specification. Our highly skilled clockmakers then manufactured the 4.5m x 3.5m clock with care and transported the finished feature to the contractors who were manufacturing the wall panels. It was pre-installed on these prior to arrival at its final home, 8 Salisbury Square.

12 individual hour markers created from bronze were fixed to 2 stone cladding panels. Each dial is lit with LED lighting with an additional secondary set of LEDs making the lighting fail safe. In keeping with the size of this clock and reliability requirements, a Smith of Derby T400 synchronous movement is used to keep accurate time to +/- 1 second a month. This example incorporates slip rings to transmit power to the LED hands illumination, and is powered through a back-up system.
